Before you begin to make changes, it’s important to assess where you are starting from. These baseline measurements will help you decide what areas need the most attention and help you establish realistic, attainable goals to provide motivation. They will also provide a measuring tool for the success of the program through follow-up assessments. Think of it as the ‘before picture’ of your fitness journey.
Fitness can be divided into five categories. These assessments will measure each of these components which can be tracked on the Fitness Assessment Tracking Sheet or an online tracking program. Weight can be monitored on a weekly basis, but other areas may be slower to see progress in and can be monitored monthly or bi-monthly.
